Calhoun County Homebuyer Education Seminars

The Battle Creek Area Association of REALTORS® has launched a series of homebuyer education seminars in Calhoun County.  The first of the homebuyer education seminars have already been held at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Battle Creek in October of 2017.  There will be more scheduled throughout the year in 2018, with one planned every two months.

The subject of these seminars in October were ‘Overcoming Credit Problems’ and ‘The Path to Home Ownership’.

The Association plans to host at least six more of these seminars in 2018, covering the following topics:

  • Credit RepairHomebuyer Education Seminars
  • The Basics of Money
  • The Steps to Becoming a Homeowner
  • Zero Credit to Winning Credit

These homebuyer education seminars are being planned by the Association’s professional development committee as a community education program.  They are currently planning to hold seminars in the following school districts in the County: Battle Creek, Lakeview, Pennfield, Harper Creek and Marshall.   The committee planning the seminars will adjust the schedule to meet demand and repeat seminar locations when needed.

“As the demand for the homebuyer education seminars increase, we will hold more” says Michael Delaware, Homebuyer Education SeminarsCEO of BCAAR.  “It part of our community initiative to celebrate the 50th anniversary of fair housing in 2018, as part of the celebration by the National Fair Housing Alliance.”

The homebuyer education seminars are free, and the dates once finalized, will be posted on the Association calendar, and promoted in the Battle Creek Shopper News as well as through the churches they are being held at.

The homebuyer education seminars are designed to piece together all the vital information that an prospective home buyer needs to know to be successful in becoming a homeowner.  They are open to anyone who is interested in achieving the American Dream of home ownership.
